    The meal is heat treated by the addition of steam in the conditioner before entering the pellet mill. Conditioning is the result of the variables moisture, temperature and time. As moisture and temperature are related, time is the ultimate variable when optimizing nutritional quality of the feed as well as improving pellet quality
